Evaluation 4

Media product target audience

 
 
The target audience for my media product would be somewhere in the age of 14-17. This is why we have rated our video as 15 as it seems to be the suitable age. Our media product contains scenes that younger viewers may not understand and a lot of fear in the fact that the plot could be real and so could the killer as he seems like a normal everyday person. The killer could easily b related as someone’s dad and so the audience would find this quit scary.
We have chosen this age group as it is the ‘coming of age’ stage of life where teenagers adolescent into adults and so we wanted to open their minds more into the reality of horror rather than another fictional story. A psychological slasher horror such as ours is one that would be hard to follow if not focussed on it properly. We relate it a lot to Dexter and The Stepfather which seem to be based on the same age.
We imagine our target audience looking a lot like the image above, casual dressed  and rather chilled about life, possibly thinking about his future and his options and how everything he does now affects hi future life. You could say that the use of Malcolm could represent children and they could relate top when they were a kid or if thy know kids like younger relatives.
