The following are pictures of our storyboard for the VICINI video. Each square was drawn by myself and then edited by my group. Overall there are around 60 squares...

 

 

The storyboards were easy to produce as we had an effective way of creating them. We spent a lot of time rearranging them to fit our product needs...

VICINI Costume idea

This man is the kind of image we are going for in our VICINI production for the character of Mr. Vicini. He will be smartly dressed and well groomed and will be wearing a white shirt with a black tie and trousers and a simple belt. We chose this costume because it is smart and give off the impression that that character takes care of himself. He will also be wearing a pair of glasses and have slick ack hair. Overall, we wanted to produce an image of an everyday casual man who looks like he could do no harm but still have a creepy feel to him.



Prop Analysis

 

In this scene from The Innkeepers, a womea is taking out a bin bag with some struggle and she seems nervous about it. This could imply there is something she doesn't want people to know about in the bag. In our VICINI opening, we are going to use bin bags as they are an everyday household object but in the clip, they will have bodies in which is considered horrific in a way that humans can be treated as if they were trash...

This famous picture from the film Texas Chainsaw Massacre is of Leatherface running after the escapees at the end of the film with his chainsaw raised. We see a chainsaw as a rather brutal object that could inflict pain and so find this scary that the villain uses one...

This is a fake arm from a horror scene on You Tube (the name was foreign and not written in English so I can't type it). The idea of parts of the body coming off makes us feel less like a human and we fear the loss of limbs. Also, the use of blood makes us cringe since we know blood should be in the body. We will be using a bloody arm in our VICINI opening...

VICINI Location

 

The location for my group's horror film opening, VICINI will be an everyday house in a small neighbourhood. This is where Mr. Vicini will be living and there will be nothing strange or horrific about the house, just a normal house. This will go against conventions and will make the film more realistic. It gives the audience the idea that it could be set in their house or home.

 

During the scene, Mr. Vicini will be in his kitchen preparing vegetables...

Production Company Name

 

My group and I decided our production company name should be called Psychedelic Productions. This is because we wanted to infer that our films mess with people's heads (through fear of course) and the word 'psychedelic' means

 

"Producing hallucinations that expand the mind..."

 

which works well with how we want to expand people's minds and make them believe in the scarily impossible. Harry, one of our group, made the logo in bold capitals so it stands out and used an old tree next to the writing. That and the blackness give it a gothic and dark evil feel.

This was another variation of the logo. The colour red symbolises blood which would make the audience think of death and murder.

My group also made a second company that could be in association with the other, Mountain Bru entertainment. In all honesty, the name is just made up from the two drinks, Mountain Dew and Irn Bru but we wanted to give the film a more realistic look with two companies instead of one.
